The practice of “Sphere of Silence” (SOS) is the process of rejuvenating oneself, by devoting just 60 minutes in a day. The Sphere of Silence is fundamentally a process of deriving power from silence, as profoundly said by Vijay Eswaran “Silence, if done right, is the height of communication. The deepest feeling can only be communicated in silence. Silence is not the absence of words or sound, it is the presence of the Almighty within us and hence is the medium of deep thought, from which springs forth in speech and in writing, the true eloquence of the single word, properly used the slight intonation, the right pitch and the subtle touch of inflection can convey both authority and credibility.”
It is made up of three paths or steps –
1) Path of Duty -: The path of duty is an exercise of roughly 30 minutes, divided in 3 equal parts. Here 3 equally divided parts refer to past, present & future. It starts with the ‘post-mortem’ of previous day & evaluating progress rate of the goal & also identify various reasons for failure. The 2nd part ‘present’, is all about listing the points/activities planned for the day. And finally future, here we start planning our activities depending on whether the goal is short term, mid term or long term.
2) Path of Knowledge -: The main purpose of path of knowledge is to build short term memory. This exercise is roughly about 20 minutes
3) Path of Devotion. -: This time is reserved to communicate with the Almighty/God/Self. This is the last part of the daily exercise “Sphere of Silence" which is about 10 minutes.
The objective of this process can be summed up in brief as to -: Stop, Think, Introspect and Reflect. Many people who have followed this technique of SOS have found it amazing, as it has helped them not only to win in every aspect of life, but also get closer to the Lord.
How is the Sphere of Silence (SOS) different from other techniques of meditation or other process of mental relaxation?
SOS is a unique & rather simplistic way, but very effective in achieving all our goals besides experiencing the ‘peace’ or ‘Bliss’. Its not like the traditional way for achieving bliss where someone sits on a rock & meditates or people who walk on the path of Zen. As stated above, its’ the material fulfillment as well as achieving spiritual bliss. The idea is to break through that ritual that traps most of the human beings right from the very onset … which can be called as “The thinking stage”. If thought is supposed to be the architect of our destiny, then it is indeed the thought that needs to be changed or challenged as the case may be.
Most of the people as they start growing materialistically get virtually enslaved by the wealth. They become very reluctant to get out of this pseudo comfort zone, which deprives them of the inner bliss. The day when people actually start the process of practicing the technique of Sphere of Silence, gives them the impetus to challenge the pseudo mindset which helps in attaining totality in life.
